Our friends & neighbors in the Bahamas have faced catastrophic damage from Hurricane Dorian and are in desperate need of our help.
Many of you have asked me for information on local hurricane relief efforts. Below you will find details on several collection drives where we can donate much needed supplies.
The City of West Palm Beach will resume normal operations tomorrow (Thursday, September 5).

CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH UPDATES
Sanitation Services Have Resumed
The City of West Palm Beach resumed residential and commercial pickup at 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2019. Recycling resumed this morning as well. Yard waste and bulk pickup will resume on Thursday, September 5, 2019. Special pickups will resume on Friday, September 6, 2019.
WPB to Resume Normal Operations on Thursday, September 5, 2019
Mayor Keith A. James has signed a termination of the declaration of the State of Local Emergency effective midnight tonight. The City of West Palm Beach will resume normal operations on Thursday, September 5, 2019.

City Parking Garages Reopen After Hurricane
All City of West Palm Beach garages are back open. Individuals who parked in the garage for protection should remove their vehicles to avoid being charged.
HURRICANE RELIEF FOR THE BAHAMAS

The West Palm Beach Police Department has several officers who have volunteered to deliver Hurricane Relief to the Bahamas. WPBPD will collect the items listed below from anyone wishing to donate them. Donations will be accepted between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on TODAY September 4th, 2019, at the West Palm Beach Police Department, 600 Banyan Blvd., West Palm Beach, Florida 33401. *Although it is appreciated, they are unable to accept clothing.

Eagles’ Wings Foundation
Working with the West Palm mayor’s office, the city’s Downtown Development Authority, area restaurant groups and other locals, Lewis’ Eagles’ Wings Foundation has kicked off an extensive disaster relief mission that includes gathering supply and monetary donations and running rescue/recovery flights powered by a fleet of civilian aircraft.
